Smart Belt at CES 2105
Since I was unable to go to CES 2015 because of my school schedule, I have been anxiously waiting for the first reports to hit the web. Knowing there would be some reports coming out when the show opened, I was up early, and I have not been disappointed!
My favorite so far is the Smart Belt called the Belty unveiled by Emiota a French startup. This belt will automatically adjust during the day depending on how much you’ve eaten and how much you exercise.
Like a fitness band, it monitors how much you’ve been moving and collects data throughout the day. It will give feedback and suggestions based on your activity level.
The Belty has a several motors that expand and retract with your waist, keeping the belt at a comfortable tightness.
The price point has not been set, but Belty representative said it would be a “high-end product” with a luxury price tag.
